Sentences! SImple, Complex or Compound!

We have been learning about the different types of sentences and today we used this picture to write simple, complex and compound sentences!

Which sentences are simple, complex or compound?

William

There is an old castle.      An old building is in a snowy year and the rooms are very very hot!

Yanni

I see a old fashioned building.   I see a haunted house in the snow.

Cataleya

It is a stormy, snowy day.    There is a clock and there is lots of windows.    The wind has blown the leaves off the trees.

Brenna

It is a cold day in Dunedin and the blossoms are growing on the trees while the snow is falling.

Zara Mao

One stormy day there was a scary house with a clock tower in the middle of it and there was a lot of broken windows.

There is a house that has a clock tower.    There is a house that has a clock tower and lots of square windows.     It got colder as the clock ticked!

This house look like a hotel.   It could be a castle.  The room are warm but outside is cold.

This castle looks like it is a hotel and it has heaps of windows.  There is snow on the trees and snow on the ground.  It is a stormy night but the rooms are warm.

Our Wonderful Aunties


This week we read Margaret Mahy's book My Wonderful Aunt, Part 1.  We loved sharing stories about our wonderful Aunts and created an Inside Outside picture of them telling us all what we love about them. So this is for all the awesome Aunties out there! We love you lots!
